A dear neighbour and friend who was so present in our life and more significant to us than perhaps she ever realised. A steady, no-nonsense figure ready to help with anything from childcare, feeding the cat, ironing, baking, direct advice and treats for the dog! Always there, her door always open. Never putting herself centre stage but an important character and part of the fabric of Elsfield life. She is, and will continue to be missed by us all living next door. Suddenly, a significant pillar of the village, has gone. There was a time when, along with Sue and Keith we were the youngest people at this end of the village, now, it seems, time has overtaken us. Sue will be much missed for her humour, generosity, directness and frequent acts of kindness. The village moves on but the contribution of the likes of Sue cannot be under-estimated.
